their, there, they're - your, you're...
Maybe it's just me, but I get really pissed when I see these "english-speakers" not knowing what word to use and when. I don't know about you, but I learned this in grade 2.
THEIR - possession, that's their problem
THERE - not here, over there
THEY'RE - they are
YOU'RE = you are, almost like they are, see the connection here?
YOUR is possession
Let me give you an example: If you ever call me awesome (which you should) by saying YOUR awesome, I'd be more offended than flattered. And I'd feel sorry for you.
I used to teach english in Brazil. It's amazing how these people that I taught, had a very limited vocabulary but knew when to use the proper word in these cases. Then I got back to Canada, and it seems like more often than not people are clueless about these. What makes me even angrier is that some of these people have jobs where grammar really matters - like proofreading, editing, teachers, etc...
