Wheels on Shoes

What is the deal here? Have you ever seen these? Kids wheeling themselves around using the built-in wheels on their shoes. These things are fairly new I guess, they've been out for a few months? Also, I've been reading in the paper for years now that kids are getting fatter and fatter with the McDonald's 15 times a week, and the electronic computer mind-numbing games. So, what was the guy thinking that invented these? "Well, kids are getting fatter; I can't think of a way that can help slim them down, but I CAN think of a way to make them fat AND lazy!"

I just don't get it.
