Laziness

Hi,
This week I've been noticing the laziness more. You know on doors of most stores and shops they have those buttons that open the doors? I've noticed lately how helpful they really are, pushing my wife around in a wheelchair and trying to open a door isn't very easy to do! And when she goes ouot with her crutches too, it's much easier for her if I'm not there to hold the door.

But lately I've been noticing (well, not just lately) other people, pushing these buttons just because they're lazy. Two good arms, two good legs, but they push the button and wait. I noticed this the other day when some lady pushed the button, and the door swung out and almost hit me in the face!

Another thing is on escalators, like people standing on them like it's a ride, or going out of their way to ride an esclator instead of taking the stairs. And then, these people have these expensive memberships at gyms where they go and stay on the stair master for hours at a time. How much sense does that make?

We have those doors all over school, which of course is a good thing, but everyone uses the button and I absolutely don't understand it. I always open the door manually because, well, I'm capable and it really is nothing to do it, even less so than to walk to the side of the door to push the button and then wait. Weird.
