niceness

Hi,
I want to mention something about holding the door for someone either when leaving a store, apartment building, a mall, or anywhere else. I think I wrote about this awhile ago. I've gotten over the rude bastards that don't say a simple "thanks" when you hold the door for them, but I have a story from the other day.

I was at the mall (to protect the identity of the mall, I won't say which one... ok, it was Billings Bridge). But anyway, I was coming in the tunnel from the bus mall, when some guy was coming through the door, and right behind him was a woman with a stroller. I mean, like, right behind him. OK, if it was just a regular person that he didn't hold the door for, like me, then I'd consider him a rude prick and continue. BUT, he let the door go without holding it for this lady! It actually slammed on the wheel of the kid's stroller! Jeez, wake up, you morons!

elections

Hi,
I've been kinda lazy with these posts lately. But today, I want to spit out some complaints about elections and voting. This bugs me, 'cause when we vote in a guy who makes all these crazy promises, then of course breaks most of them. Then the next election comes around a few years later. So people, even the ones that voted for him, say "we gotta get this liar out of office." And it seems like everyone is against the person, and doesn't want to vote him/her back for another term. But somehow, inexplicably, they get voted back. Either the guy is rigging the election, or (what I think), people are spineless, and even though they've been saying how much this politician sucks, and doesn't deserve to be in office, they suddenly change their mind when they get to the polling station, and think, "well, they're doing an ALRIGHT job, so I may as well vote for him again."

The majority of people are chickens. They can't deal with change. If you want proof, look at the States. How do you think this guy got in twice in a row? Too bad he can't run again, because even though his rating now is like 20%, my money would be on him to win again. You know why? Spineless voters who are afraid of change.

support

Hi,

Sorry, I'm a few days late this week.

If you don't live in Ottawa, you may not know that our Triple-A baseball team, the Lynx, have likely played their last game ever. When they started in 1993, the attendence for every game was very good. Then, as the years passed, the novelty wore off. By about 2000, the "crowds" were between 1000-2000 for the games. The last few years were the same. There was the odd Saturday or Sunday afternoon game that drew over 3000.

I came to realize that Ottawa is just not a baseball town. Then came the aggrivating part. On the last day of the existence of the Ottawa Lynx, September 3rd, 2007, there was 7,500 people there. In the past years the team was lucky to have a quarter of that attend any given game.

Sorry to say, but you "fans" in this town make me sick. It's like spitting in the face of every real fan in the city.
