GST
Hi,
The GST was 7% last year, is 6% this year, and will be 5% next year. So people like me and many others, who don't buy many taxable items for more than $10 usually, will save 20 cents on those 10 dollar purchases. Two dimes, big deal, right? BUT, those people that are buying $50 000 cars last year, compared to next year will save $1000 with that 2% GST drop. Pretty significant.
I also heard that bus fares will go way up over the next few years. I ride the bus, people that can't afford cars and take advantage of these savings ride the bus, and will be paying these fare increases over the next years.
Is it just me, or is this country doing everything they can to widen the gap between the rich and the poor?
