Flowers

Hey,
I went to the Supermarket the other day to buy a boquet of flowers, and they were about 10 bucks. But, the thing is, the flowers in the pot, still growing, were 7. Why is it that dead flowers cost more? If you buy live flowers (in the pot), even if the person you give them to doesn't water them, the chances are they will last at least a week, right? Well, the dead ones (in a bouquet) will last a week, tops, right?

So what's the deal?
